BEEF STRIPS IN OYSTER SAUCE

-1lb. 5 oz (600 g) strips of beef
-2 Tbsp. (30 ml) Tamari sauce
-1 Tbsp. (15 ml) corn starch
-1/4 cup (60 ml) peanut oil
-1Tbsp (15 ml) garlic, choped
-2Tbsp (10 ml) ginger, chopped
-1 cup (250 ml) mushrooms, sliced
-4 green onions, quartered
-2Tbsp (30 ml) oyster sauce /or clams

Sauce

-1Tsp (5 ml ) clover honey
-Ground Black Pepper to taste

Mix the beef strips with the Tamari sauce and corn starch.

Refrigerate 45 minutes. In a frying pan, heat half the peanut oil. Brown the beef strips.

Add the garlic and ginger, cook 2 or 3 minutes. Remove from the frying pan and set aside. brown the mushrooms and green onions in therest of the oil.

Cook 2 minutes over medium heat. Add the meat and the oyster sauce as well as the honey.

Season to taste. Gives 4 portions.
